Fenrir: Dawn Rising (Part 2)

Aetsia looked to Jackal and nodded. "Let's go, Jackal... I hope we can make it... no, I know we can make it!"

Jackal nodded, looking at the swords, in determination. He began running for them, "Hope you're fast, Aetsia!"


Nexus, stood back up and began looking around, choosing a target. Its sights were set on Bane since he had attacked it, earlier.

Solus reared his paw back to launch the orb he had, waiting in his paw, but one of the black tendrils shot from beneath the ground and wrapped itself around his arm, keeping it from throwing the orb. Solus tried to pull away from the tendril but it seemed to continue coiling itself around Solus arm, soon coiling around his chest, slowly constricting him.

Alice began firing her blaster at Nexus, but all the projectiles just bounced off of its body. "I hate being useless..."

"Trust me, I am!" Aetsia replied, running after Jackal quickly, keeping her head low as to not attract Nexus' attention.

Leo nodded. "Yeah, I feel for ya. I'm pretty useless right now too."

Bane looked up and noticed Nexus seemed to be targeting him. The wolf grinned and began making his path erratic, trying to be harder to hit, yet not so hard to hit that Nexus chose a different target.

As the fox carefully watched Nexus with a narrowed gaze, an orb began forming in Ris' right hand, his left remaining tightly clenched at his side. He quickly looked over the rest of the scene, making sure none of his allies were in mortal peril.

His ear gave a quick twitch when his blue eyes fell upon the Destroyer.

Solus glanced at Ris, when he felt like he was being watched. "Don't even think about it!"

The Pantheon managed to pull his arm free, but more tendrils shot outwards and began coiling around his arm once again, keeping it pinned to his side.


Nexus looked down at Bane before raising its foot and bringing it down, like it had done to Solus, attempting to crush Bane.

Luna stood at Ris's right side, gently grasping onto his arm. "Ris... Do you think it's worth it?"

Bane glanced up to see a foot heading in his general direction and skidded to a halt. There, he reared back his fist and threw it forward when the mighty appendage was within rang.

Hey, Solus held it back, why not him? That was Bane's logic, anyway.

The punch barely affected Nexus' foot, only serving to make it twitch slightly before it brought the large foot down like a hammer, regardless of Bane's efforts.

Bane quickly found out the hard was he indeed wasn't as strong as Solus, when the foot proceeded to grind him into the floor. Miles looked back at the scene and shook his head.

Poor flat bastard.

The fox's blue eyes grew cold and steely as he saw the Pantheon struggle.

A quick, quiet flickering came from the center of the orb in his hand, another following after, then another. As if the mass of condensed energy had been impaled, a deep, blood red began to ooze from the brilliantly white center, seeping through to the outside edges of the orb until the color had altered entirely. The transformation it had gone through into being an explosive orb wasn't even intended by the vulpine.

"Luna," Ris began, his narrowed gaze remaining on the Arch-Pantheon, "if this means his death, I don't know what could be more worth it."

"And Nexus? What about him?" Luna replied, not understanding the importance of the transformation Ris's orb just went through.

"If we don't kill Solus now, he'll get rid of us as soon as Nexus is gone. We can deal with him later."

'But I -know- we can't trust Solus.'

"And if we kill Solus, we may not be able to kill Nexus," Luna replied, a little worry in her voice.

Alice rolled her eyes and shouted, "Damn it, Ris! Nexus first! The dog, later! If you kill him now, Nexus is going to be beefed up!"

"Yeah, leave him!" Leo replied to Ris. "We can all just gang up on him later and beat 'im down!"

Aetsia looked to the swords. "Jackal, we're almost there...!"

Miles' gaze was locked onto the swords as he continued his sprint for them. He was also closest to Nexus.

He glanced up at the creature just to make sure he wasn't in any real danger yet.

His teeth gritting together, the orb in Ris' hand began to fluctuate slightly. "But what if by then it's too late? We might not get another chance at him!"

Alice groaned, annoyed, throwing her arms up, "Ris, think about it. You kill the dog, guy, then Nexus will be invincible."


Jackal nodded continuing to run in the direction of the swords. "Just keep an eye out. Don't want to get HIT!" Jackal was surprised when he found himself being tripped up by one of the tendrils that shot out of the slimy ground.


Since Miles was closest to Nexus, the creature set its sights on the wolf. He raised a finger and several tendrils flew from the ground, aiming to catch Miles.


Fenrir looked at Solus, who couldn't break free of the tendrils. "...I believe I may regret this decision... but..." He swung his arm and the black sword appeared in his paw. Swinging it downward he sliced through the tendrils, freeing the Arch-Pantheon.

Solus just pulled the remains of the tendrils off of him and looked at Fenrir. The two seemed to stare for a moment, as if they were scanning for something within each other. Solus' eyes looked shifted to look at Ris, "I may be a Destroyer, Ris, but I'm not stupid. This may be the only time I'll ever suggest this, but if we're to kill that fake Pantheon, we're going to need to cooperate."

Luna's paws gently wrap around his wrist, staring over at the newly freed Solus. "You can't be serious."

Miles spotted movement from the corner of his eye. Turning to look, he saw a large amount of the black tendrils that had attempted to trip Jackal heading for him.

The wolf had little time to react, and only managed to dodge a few before getting snared. He reached for his sword. . .

Nothing. He looked down at his sword, or rather, the absence of it.

"Taking the sword off was probably not the smartest move you've made today, Miles" he muttered to himself as more of the tendrils began to bind him.

'Fenrir--!'

He had always hated the wolf, but maybe not as much as he did just then. His glare quickly turning to Solus as the Pantheon spoke, Ris' teeth only gritted further together, his ear giving occasional, random twitches. After a moment, he looked away, taking a deep breath. "Fine..." the fox muttered, "But as soon as Nexus is dead..."

Luna turned to Ris's gaze. "Ris... are you sure?"

"Maybe Solus can wait, but not forever." he muttered in reply. "I doubt he would wait for us as it is."

"Wait for us?" Luna's ears twitched slightly in confusion. "What do you mean?"
